Sawmilling and Processing Qualifications

Roles in this sector include activities ranging from sawing logs, producing hardwood or softwood chips, kiln drying, conducting end matching and finger jointing operations to weighing loads. There are two qualifications at these levels:
- FPI20305 Certificate II in Sawmilling and Processing
- FPI30305 Certificate III in Sawmilling and Processing
From these, many people go to the FPI40205 Certificate IV in Timber Processing. This Certificate combines supervisory responsibilities with technical skills in areas including; grading and testing, timber treatment and drying, sawing operations and competitive manufacturing.
