A Wood Machinist is one of the most highly skilled people in a saw mill. You'll have done an apprenticeship and be trade qualified to operate the most high-tech machines in the mill.

Planers, saws, moulders and more – you'll know how to set them up and operate them so they produce the best quality product.

You'll also have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re making a difference because you’re producing one of the world’s most environmentally friendly building materials – sustainably sourced timber.

Role

As a Wood Machinist you could do a range of tasks including:


  • Setting knives and saws

  • Machine maintenance

  • Instructing operators

  • Problem solving

The job responsibilities vary according to the role, however working safely and following appropriate OH&S practices is essential.

Qualifications
