Sawmill Timber Production Manager

Careers Profile
You know how a saw mill operates, green mill, dry mill and re-man. You'll have experience in at least some facets of the business, whether on the production or professional sides.
You'll be ready to lead the mill team in maximising the value of the logs by producing quality product to environmental standards. You'll also be responsible for staffing – including HR and dispute resolution.
You'll set and achieve production targets and budgets – and probably be on call 24/7.
You'll also have the satisfaction of knowing that you're making a difference because you’re producing one of the world's most environmentally friendly building materials – sustainably sourced timber.
Role
As a Timber Production Manager you could do a wide range of tasks including:
- Managing people
- Problem solving
- Meeting production targets and budgets
- Client liaison
- Writing and submitting reports
- Production planning
- Plant maintenance and upgrade planning.
Responsibilities
The job responsibilities vary according to the role, however working safely and following appropriate OH&S practices is essential.

Qualifications
You will have experience in working in a mill environment and have Certificate IV, diploma or degree qualifications.
